The high-profile Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was officially opened to traffic on October 24. The 55km bridge is the world's longest sea link incorporating functions of bridge, island and tunnel, and among the few Chinese transport infrastructure projects claiming the most sophisticated technology and the highest construction requirements and standards, hailed by The Guardian as "the world's seventh wonder".

The construction project filled many blanks in China and even the entire world. In particular it used the liquid polysulfide rubber product from Jinxi Institute for sealing the joints of stay-cables. This is the second world-class transportation infrastructure project using Jinxi Institute's product, following the AG600 which used air plexiglass from Jinxi Institute for her first test flight on water on October 20.

Jinxi Institute is the first and the only manufacturer of polysulfide rubber, a special kind of synthetic rubber. It has been working hard to strengthen its independent innovation capacity based on its talent pool. The polysulfide rubber it produces with advanced process and equipment outperforms overseas rivals in adhesive strength, elongation and aging resistance and thus has won high praises from high-end customers at home and abroad. The success of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has encouraged and motivated the researchers in Jinxi Institute, expanded the area of application for polysulfide rubber, and increased the visibility of Jinxi Institute's polysulfide rubber product, thus better preparing the company for increasing its share in the high-end civilian market and building up its economic strength based on restructuring and technology innovation.
