Uzbekistan sent us the good news on April 10 that the curing press production line in the Angren Tire Plant constructed by Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery (YRPM) in Uzbekistan has successfully produced the first steel wire rope conveyor belt, putting an end to the history of Uzbekistan’s inability to produce steel wire rope conveyor belt .
The production line is an important part of China's "the Belt and Road"Initiative in Uzbekistan. The first newly-produced steel wire rope conveyor belt adopts the steel wire rope with the diameter of 11mm. The cured belt is 38mm thick, 2m wide and 60m long. Field test indicates that all technical indicators meet the design requirements.
In September 2016, YRPM undertook the internal mixer and steel wire rope conveyor belt curing press line in the Uzbekistan project as part of the national "Belt and Road" initiative. The main technical contractor of the Uzbekistan project is Beijing Research and Design Institute of Rubber Industry. The steel wire rope conveyor belt is the first steel wire rope curing press line in Uzbekistan. The maximum curing load is 5400ST. And the maximum size of the conveyor belt that can be cured is 11mm in diameter, 38mm in thickness and 2.2m in width.
In order to make the project go into operation as fast as possible, fully create a high-quality model project and have a demonstration effect overseas, YRPM invited KraussMaffei's technical experts to conduct special researches together with local teams, so as to work out the best production plan and process and ensure product quality and production schedule.
During the project implementation, YRPM sent a professional technical team of about 10 members to the Uzbekistan project site for installation and commissioning. They overcame the unfavorable influence caused by the sustained high temperature and sand-wind weather, cooperated with users closely and put forward a lot of innovative solutions to the problems they encountered on site. For example, for the problem of circulating cooling water, they improved and optimized the original design plan boldly, not only having the water leakage under control, but also maintaining the constant water temperature error at 2℃ below. For the improper size design of the carding plate due to the different steel wire rope size standard in Uzbekistan, the technical personnel of YRPM polished more than 100 carding plates on site, with more than 20 wires for each plate, so that the steel wire rope could pass through the carding hole smoothly, thus ensuring smooth operation of the production line.
Relevant responsible personnel said that the production of the first steel wire rope conveyor belt has been highly recognized by the Uzbekistan plant. It is a substantive phased result of the project implementation. As the project proceeds, China's advanced rubber technologies and leading rubber machineries will continue to be introduced into the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
