Recently released in Jiangsu Province is a list of key enterprises for the implementation IPR strategy. On the list, Lehigh is the only enterprise from Lianyungang City and is granted RMB 1 million as financial support by the provincial government.
Launched and organized by the provincial Intellectual Property Office, the IPR strategy implementation program aims to enhance the IPR-related capabilities of companies and foster a batch of enterprises with nationally and internationally influential IP advantages.
Being a comprehensive research and design institute in China covering the fields of mining, environmental protection, and chemical engineering, Lehigh takes technological innovation as the lifeline of its survival and development and constantly strengthens IP management. In 2015 it was certified by the State Intellectual Property Office as a "company with intellectual property advantages".
To better protect its core technologies independently developed and grasp the best time for patent application, Lehigh attaches great importance to patent search in innovation, constantly improves the layout of its intellectual property, and strives to turn patents into products and maximize their economic benefits. In the development process of "PA-66 reverse flotation collector", Lehigh successfully applied for a number of patents in multiple core technologies that cover such aspects as improvement of raw materials, R&D of chemical reagents, and application of mineral processing technologies, and these patents have constituted a complete protection chain to protect the product, process and market of PA-66. In the highly competitive domestic market of flotation reagents in 2015, Lehigh, with obvious advantages of patented technologies, realized a steady increase in the sales of phosphate and potash ore flotation reagents.
In the field of environmental protection, the company adopts an "introduction - digestion - assimilation - reinvention" model. Through continuous R&D investment, Lehigh has achieved remarkable progress in microbial treatment of high ammonia nitrogen, treatment of high-salt industrial wastewater, R&D of microbial agents, recycling of wastewater that contains phenol and organic acids, and other areas. In the past 3 years, it filed more than 80 patent applications related to wastewater treatment, in which 18 patents have been granted, taking a leading position in this field domestically. In bidding for "Integrated Wastewater Treatment for the Qinghai Salt Lake Metal Magnesium Integration Project" in 2013, Lehigh, with its patented "method for treating nitrogen-containing chemical wastewater", won the bid in the form of proprietary technology procurement and was awarded the contract worth up to RMB 100 million.
With this selection as an opportunity, Lehigh will continue to improve its IP management system. In the next two years, it will further enhance the IP management information platform, improve and better use the personalized patent information database, develop stronger IP advantages in the industry, and strive to be an IP demonstration enterprise with nationwide influence.
