At 9:38 a.m. on the morning of April 3, a freight train laden with fuel oil pulled into the Huaxing station, marking the completion and operation of the special railway line of Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd, thus a logistics system managed by the enterprise itself was officially built. The special line will greatly increase the safety and efficiency of transporting materials and products, which can save nearly RMB150 million of operating costs each year.
As a key petrochemical company under ChemChina Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. has seen increasing production load in recent years. Therefore, an efficient logistics system as well as balanced production and sales have become important goals of the company. As an effort to achieve the goals, Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. launched the special railway line project in October 2012 after extensive investigation. The project saw steady development with the guidance of planning departments of ChemChina and ChemChina Petrochemical Co., Ltd., supports from relevant government departments, as well as the cooperation between Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. and companies in charge of designing and construction under the principles of safety and avoiding waste. At the end of the year 2014, the project was completed on schedule.
The special line of Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. is a branch line of Shouguang-Zouping Railway, stretching 3.4 kilometers long with one station and supporting facilities such as trestles, pipelines, storage tanks, as well as safety and environmental protection facilities. The special line, with its total investment of RMB265 million, is designed to be able to receive and send out annually 7.3 million tons of materials and products including base oil, coal, petroleum products, petroleum coke, etc.
Now that the special line has been put into use, Huaxing Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. will continue to build an artery to encourage future development with the advantages of logistics provided by ports like Longkou and Huangdao in Shandong Province, avoiding the bottleneck caused by road and weather conditions, and loading and unloading space. In the long run, the new special line will facilitate further development of oil market in the central and western parts of the country, broaden the existing traditional and E-commerce marketing channels, and lift profits from selling.
