A durable gas pipe for households, jointly developed by Nanjing 7425 Rubber & Plastic Co and Beijing Research and Design Institute of the Rubber Industry successfully came off the production line on July 7. Beijing Yanshan Industrial Gas Equipment Co has ordered 5,000 meters of the pipe for the first time.
The company signed a cooperation agreement with the Beijing institute to promote technical innovation. Ordinary gas pipes usually have to be replaced after two years of use, but many households are reluctant to do so to save money. Therefore, there are big safety hazards. The two parties then came up with the “durable” concept and began technical cooperation. They made attempts with new technology and materials, and eventually developed the first new generation hose sample after frequent technical innovation and breakthroughs. The sample then went to households for trial use and passed tests by various prestigious institutions, such as the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Beijing Gas, and the Shanghai Rubber Products Aging Test Center. Experts concluded that the new gas pipe can be used for eight years, four times as long as the ordinary ones on the market.
