It’s been five years since the earthquake on May 12, 2008. Mainstream central media paid a visit to Sichuan Bluestar Machinery on May 8 to get a better understanding of local life and work after the disaster.
The visiting media were divided into four groups. A total of 16 reporters from seven media outlets, including People’s Daily, Guangming Daily and Xinhua News Agency, paid a visit to Sichuan Bluestar accompanied by officials from the Sichuan Provincial Publicity Department. The company incurred huge losses due to the earthquake as it was located in Shifang city, one of the worst hit areas.
With support from the government and the public, Sichuan Bluestar went all out to rebuild itself after the devastation. It made an investment of 500 million yuan and built the largest modern chemical equipment company in West China. Sichuan Bluestar’s software, hardware and capacity have been upgraded. At the moment, the company is setting its sights on high-end products in petrochemical and coal chemical sectors.
