The Jiangsu provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission recently announced its first group of “Advanced Clean Production Enterprises”, and the Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co was included, making it the only northern Jiangsu company to get this award. Anpon has reported that it improved its sewage treatment plant through the optimal use of production, equipment, energy meters, and environmental protection measures. It has also improved controls on pollution sources and the effect of pollution treatment, and has made sure that pollutants meet discharge standards. It has improved its environmental protection facilities through benchmarks and technology, has employed more advanced treatment technology, conducted water analyses for production devices, and used other means to cut waste water emissions. The company has managed to reduce the amount of pollutants generated and emitted through the use of clean energy and raw materials, improved operations and management, in-process inspections, and better use of recyclable resources. At the same time, it has installed a special preprocess device, improved the wastewater treatment plant, done more particular pollutant monitoring, and improved the COD online analyzer and DCS control system.
Anpon’s industrial water consumption is reported to have fallen 30 percent in 2012, with a reduction of 110 tons of COD emissions, 80 tons of ammonia nitrogen emissions, and 1,000 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, bringing it up to the advanced level of clean production nationally for such industries.
