A temperature-resistant conveyor belt, with a side-wall that the Qingdao Rubber Six Conveyor Belt Co developed, has been patented by the United States, European Union, and Britain, making it the only international patent in China’s rubber industry. The conveyor belt can move materials at temperatures of as much as 600 C, or four-times the normal level, which is a world record and puts an end to a problem that has plagued the conveyor industry for more than 30 years. The firm side-walls greatly extend the belt’s service life.

In the past, there was no conveyor belt that could carry materials at a temperature of 180-to-600 C. The highest temperature they could handle was 150 C. In addition, the side-walls and raised edges were fixed onto the belt post-curing and, as such, could not tolerate high temperatures or resist aging, and could easily fall off under high temperatures, meaning a shorter service life for the conveyor belt.

These temperature resistant side-walls and raised edges not only prolong the service life five-fold, they also cut operation costs, so, when the belt hit the market, it was warmly welcomed by the iron and steel and cement industries. Its temperature-resistant side-walls and raised edges meant a technological revolution for the conveyor industry and it has helped raise China’s position in the temperature-resistant side-wall and raised-edge belt business, globally.
