The first new filter press made by Tianhua Institute was put into use in Shanghai Petrochemical Polyester division and its performance received wide acclaims.
The NO.2 oxidizer in Shanghai Petrochemical Polyester Division was installed in 1980s, which made it one of the oldest in the field. The NO.2 oxidizer adopted a 2 stage high speed centrifugal machine which required high energy consumption and a high maintenance fee. To make it more energy-efficient, Tianhua Institute carried out PTA programme and designed the first new filter press in China.
After the new filter press replaced the old ones, 20,000 KWH of electricity was saved everyday; 20,000 yuan of water, gas, electricity and other power was saved on a daily basis ;an annual maintenance fee of 2 million yuan was made unnecessary. It was also applicable to other field such as coal and catalyst, thus having a huge impact on society and economy.
