On May 11th, a "turnkey" review panel assessed the project-handover of ChemChina's Data Center located at Shunyi District, Beijing. ChemChina Vice-president Yang Xingqiang and CIO (Chief Information Officer) Ross MacAllister attended.
Acceptance and operation of the Enterprise Data Center is a significant milestone in the process of IT Solutions construction of ChemChina. The Center has been in trial operation for almost five months and even tested by a continuous eight-hour operation during power failure, providing stable and effective support to the launching of the ERP system. At present, the Data Center mainly serves the ERP system, offering backend support for subsidiaries to launch the system; in the long run, it will serve as an information platform for the whole ChemChina Group, providing a stable and efficient operation platform for office automation, production monitoring, command system and video conference system. According to project managers, the design and construction of the center introduces global best practices so as to ensure that it reaches the standard of a world-class data center room. Upon completion of the project, in addition to serving enterprise operation and management, and reducing costs, it can be expanded to serve multiple business units and applications with more comprehensive services and realize the highest level of utilization and safety, which will make ChemChina Group's overall operation and business much more efficient.
