Two years after the big 5.12 earthquake, the branch companies of ChemChina in Sichuan province have almost finished building new workshops and staff quarters.

The branch companies in Deyang and Shifang of Sichuan province started their reconstruction soon after receiving help and support from ChemChina. At present, the affected companies have recovered almost to the pre-earthquake condition, and some new projects are ready to go.

Sichuan Bluestar Machinery Co tried its best to alleviate the bad impact brought on by the earthquake and financial crisis. It took advantage of supportive governmental policies and expanded its market to achieve new orders worth 400 million yuan, with an increase of 4.81%. It also achieved big breakthroughs in new product development. In April, Sichuan Bluestar Machinery signed an order worth 60 million yuan with Henan Yongmei Longyu Chemical Co, which marked a new era in the company’s development history.

The reconstruction of Deyang’s new base will soon be finished. The production line of heavy container was tested at the end of April, and key equipment has been fixed and ready to put into use. After the first phase of tests, the project will gain profits of 1 billion to 2 billion yuan. Among all the reconstruction of ChemChina’s branch companies, this base will be built into a first-class big chemical equipment-production base in West China.

Deyang Haohua Qingping Linkuang will be built into a first-class phosphorus chemical park and beautiful home for staff. Reconstruction began in August 2008, and put into use on Nov 22, 2008. The production has recovered to the level before the earthquake. Also, Qingping Linkuang put up 19 buildings with 658 staff apartments.

The year 2009 was a very important year for the reconstruction task. ChemChina tried its best to speed up helping the branch companies to recover normal operations and lives of its staff. At present, the two branch companies have almost recovered to the level before the earthquake and plans to further optimize their production structure to achieve sustainable development.
