As a key part of China’s environmental capacity building, the National Membrane Separation Engineering & Technology Center is in charge of the engineering and industrialization of major membrane technical achievements. The founding of the center will help address key problems generally shared by China’s environmental technologies, projects and membrane industries. It will in this way help meet the technical demands of the country’s environment protection.
In 2005, the Ministry of Environmental Protection officially approved the feasibility study report of the National Membrane Separation Engineering & Technology Center, declared by Bluestar Membrane Technology Company. The report proposed the building of a National Membrane Separation Engineering & Technology Center, relying on Bluestar Membrane Technology Company (Bluestar Environmental Engineering Company) and Hangzhou Development Center of Water Center Treatment Technology, in Beijing’s Airport Industrial Park. After four years of construction, in July 2009 the center passed the experts’ acceptance checks organized by the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. On Jul 13, 2010, the Department announced the completion of the National Membrane Separation Engineering & Technology Center.
The membrane center will follow the guidance of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and make itself a project management institution that consists of relevant enterprises, colleges and research institutions. It will boost the engineering of membrane technology in the environmental protection sector.
