The Blue Star (Tianjin) Company has renovated its production facilities, upgraded its running equipment and strengthened its management to bring down its production consumption. It creatively tapped the potential energy of the production facilities to reduce its energy consumption and carbon gas emissions and has helped to increase its profits by almost one million yuan.
For the past few years, the company has been persistently pushing forward a renovation of its production equipment and process as its key project to save energy. During the on and off-time of the C4 unit, the company has solved the energy consumption problem during the long period of replacement of gasoline and air by shortening the replacement circle to 20 hours from the previous three days through a thorough analysis. It raises the unit’s capacity and cut energy cost by tens of thousands of yuan.
The dynamic plant put in a frequency converter in the boiler pump room, which lessens energy consumption by 50% and saves 50,000 yuan in annual electricity costs. A secondary reactor is applied in the MTBE unit to increase the recovery of heat from the heat exchanger for the extraction tower, which boosts the conversion rate by 20% and saves 200 kilograms of steam per hour. In terms of electricity supply management, all departments have cooperated to keep the power factor above 0.93, thus cutting the annual power bill by more than 200,000 yuan.
Support has been given to projects on continuous improvement. Seven green belt projects and two black belt projects were carried out last year, bringing in comprehensive benefits of more than one million yuan.
