Zhejiang Zhoushan Liuheng Water Company recently put into trial operation its second 10,000-ton reverse osmosis facility, after consecutive 168-hour tests and debugging. The sea water desalinization project is able to process 10,000 tons of seawater a day. It is constructed by Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Research Center.
This seawater desalination facility will supply fresh water to more than 90 percent of residents and institutions on the Liuheng Island in Zhoushan city. The second 10,000-ton facility of Liuheng witnessed the equipment localization rate up to about 80 percent. This lowers investment and operation costs, and elevates core competitiveness. The project has fulfilled a 10,000-ton daily output, optimized design, and improved output capacity, which will considerably boost the development of China’s seawater desalination equipment. By mineralizing the desalinated seawater, the facility will add mineral substances to and improve the taste of the drinking water.
Hangzhou water treatment center has engaged itself in the seawater desalination business over many years. It has sped up the upgrading and development of China’s seawater desalination and membrane technology industries by increasing unit output capacity, localizing supporting equipment, improving core components, upgrading technologies and application scales, and lowering energy consumptions.
