Ren Jianxin, president of China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina), met with former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Mr. Mangold, head of Regulatory Commission of Rothschild Investment Bank on October 12. The two sides exchanged views on the current world economic situation and future cooperation between Germany and China.
Mr Ren extended a warm welcome to Mr Schroeder, a renowned politician well known to Chinese people. Schroder has been actively promoting political, economical and cultural communication and cooperation between China and Germany. His valuable advice on ChemChina’s development was most welcomed. In the afternoon, Ren outlined ChemChina’s business and achievements.
Schroeder congratulated ChemChina on its achievements in recent years and said he looked forward to the company’s extended development and cooperation with Europe. He also stated his opinions on China-EU cooperation and highlighted the European political and economic situation during the talks.
