Beijing Blue Star Energy Conservation Investment Management Co., Ltd. has organized its marketing team to overcome the challenges of a sluggish market. It signed an agreement with Honghe Chemicals for technological reforms of the chlor-alkali system for energy conservation and emissions reductions.
In early January, the company launched a technological reform program. They analyzed existing problems with Honghe Chemicals in the caustic soda production facilities under the diaphragm process. It analyzed data for technological reforms. After the Spring Festival, Kang Jianzhong, general manager of Blue Star, led a marketing team to Zigong of Sichuan province to discuss with the technological reform program with the local government. Due to an investigation by the local government, intermediary organs and a targeted company, Blue Star has adopted the contract energy management mode and officially signed a contract with Honghe Chemicals.
Blue Star adopted the contract to invest in sub-projects of “100,000-ton caustic soda ionic membrane electrolyzer” and “100,000-ton alkali evaporation and 75,000-ton slice alkali equipment”. When the projects are completed, they are expected to save nearly 50,000 tons of standard coal each year, which is converted to a reduction of 120,000 tons of emission of carbon dioxide. Haohua Engineering Co., Ltd. assumes a preliminary design, detailed design and general contracting. It is the first time for Blue Star and Haohua Engineering to cooperate with an EPC general on contracting a project for its chlor-alkali system.
