On December 28, 2011, Zhonghao Chenguang Chemical Research Institute obtained a license as the third group of national innovation enterprises at the mobilization meeting of Sichuan province commercializing major scientific and technological research findings. Liu Qibao, secretary of Sichuan provincial Party committee, encouraged the institute to create outstanding results when extending the license to the president of the institute.
The institute has given priority in recent years to invest in scientific and technological research and to cultivate qualified technical personnel. It has accelerated technological innovations and elevated independent innovation capacity. In July 2009, the institute was recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, State-owned Assets Supervision and the Administration Commission and All-China Federation of Trade Unions as one of the third group of national level innovation pilot enterprises. In the same year, it was declared a provincial level innovation pilot enterprise in Sichuan. In March 2011, the institute, along with 153 companies, was officially named as the third group of national innovation enterprises. The institute was conferred with honorary titles. The technical center was nationally recognized. Scientific progress has boosted national economic expansion. In 2011, it surged over two billion yuan in industrial output and sales revenues. Its economic growth exceeded 80 percent with a big rise in profits. It has developed from a scientific research institute on the verge of bankruptcy a decade ago to a leading company in the Chinese fluorine-containing polymer sector. In the next five years, the institute will develop a globally first-class fluorine chemical company and contribute to the Western China economy.
