A group of children recently paid a visit to the Chemical Industry Museum of China. The trip helped them gain insight into the start, exploration and development of China’s chemical industry and increase their knowledge and enthusiasm towards the country’s history.
The trip was a long-term cooperation between the museum and education institutions. It was jointly sponsored by the Chinese Education Society’s School Culture Research Branch and the Beijing International Center for Chinese Language. They chose pupils that excelled in culture, language and art, and held various interesting activities to expand their outlook.
The first group paid a visit to the museum back in December 2012, and both sides started negotiations and reached a cooperative agreement to help promote the history and culture of China’s chemical industry. Every Friday, teams of children will come to visit the museum.
The museum staff made a special introduction geared to stimulate the interest of the visitors, encouraging them to ask questions and interact with them. The children gave free rein to their imaginations on future chemical development and expressed their feelings after the visit. They also made small presents on their own, including an orange lantern and soap basket for the museum.
