A 6.6-magnitude earthquake on July 22 jolted two counties in northwest China's Gansu province. The quake occurred at the junction of Minxian and Zhangxian counties, wreaking havoc on local people.
Established in Gansu, Bluestar has a close bond with people there. The company wasted no time in making donations to help them start a new life. ChemChina General Manager Ren Jianxin asked local operations to fully cooperate with the local government to actively join in disaster relief work. Bluestar then made a donation of 1 million yuan ($163,557) to the disaster area.
On July 25, Wei Zhirong, executive vice-mayor of Dingxi city, received the donation on behalf of the government. He said Gansu people are always proud of Bluestar and are grateful for the company’s general donation. Wei expressed his gratitude for Bluestar’s selfless act.
